Customise your investing portfolio to suit yourself
Peaks is perhaps best known for its ready-made portfolios like Cautious, Balanced, Ambitious, and Adventurous, but did you know you can also build your own portfolio?
You can choose from a selection of 20 ETFs, ETPs, and ETCs to create a portfolio that suits your preferences and goals. Adjust the weightings of existing funds, select the world regions you want to invest in or add thematic ETFs - such as blockchain, healthcare and renewable energy. It's even possible to add other asset classes like AI or gold. Once you've familiarised yourself with the world of investing and ETFs, you can use the Custom Portfolio to explore new options and design a portfolio tailored to your own ideas and approach.
Risk, return, and costs
If you choose to build your own portfolio for one or more of your accounts with Peaks, you won’t be using a portfolio created by experts. You decide how much risk you want to take and select the allocation of funds that matches your preferences.
Before adding crypto ETPs to your portfolio, know that Bitcoin and Ethereum prices can fluctuate back and forth considerably and fall outside of the ESG sustainability criteria we stick to for our ETFs. Prices can suddenly rise steeply, but fall deeply just as quickly.
Keep in mind that the allocation of funds in your custom portfolio not only affects the risk profile but also impacts the expected return and fund costs. Know that you can adjust your portfolio at any time or switch to one of the ready-made Peaks portfolios.
How to build your own portfolio
If you’re a Peaker who enjoys having more control, building your own portfolio might be the right choice for you. The better your portfolio fits your needs, the more enjoyable investing for the long term becomes. And it’s not difficult—just follow these steps in the app:
- Tap on Your Portfolio in the hamburger menu.
- Swipe all the way to the right and tap on Custom.
- Your ETF portfolio builder will open, where you can now add or remove index funds.
- Read more about each ETF, their risks, and returns, and select the ETFs, ETPs or ETCs you want.
- Make sure the total allocation of your portfolio equals exactly 100%.
- Enjoy your custom-built portfolio!
