The net returns for our portfolios
0.6% average annual return
This page shows the net returns for our portfolios (the total returns minus the costs). The result we show is the average annual return for each portfolio based on an investment of €10,000 at the beginning of 2018. We use this amount as the basis for calculating these returns, because this is common practice among investment companies, so it makes it easier for you to compare us with others. From a historical perspective, the last few years have delivered positive returns in general. Past results are no guarantee for future performance. The returns you achieve may differ depending on the amounts, timings and frequency of your deposits.

Understanding the costs
No transaction fees
Peaks never charges transaction fees or fees for deposits or withdrawals.
Fund fees
With Peaks, you are investing in index funds. The managers of these funds charge fees. Depending on your portfolio, these annual fees range from 0.15% to 0.22% of your total investment. These costs are included in the fund price.
Spread
Spreads are costs you incur when buying and selling your investments. The spread is the difference between the prices at which a stockbroker is willing to buy and sell an investment. On average, you pay between 0.03% to 0.05% per buy or sell spread.

Understanding the costs
Our cost calculator
The costs shown in our cost calculator are calculated based on your deposit, the period you plan to invest, your chosen portfolio and the expected return of that portfolio. The costs in euros are the total costs over your chosen period. The yearly costs in percent show the average annualised cost percentage during the chosen period.
The cost calculator is designed to help you understand the impact of costs on the expected return on your investments. The calculator shows that as you deposit more, the expense percentage decreases. The calculator also shows that if you invest relatively little at the beginning, the short-term costs of investing with Peaks can be relatively high compared to the expected return of the portfolio. This is why it may be wise to invest more at the beginning (as a one-off or periodical deposit), so that the costs are relatively lower, depending on the portfolio you choose.
Costs of using the Peaks app
The Start package costs €1.99 per month, and you pay 0.5% of the average value of your investments per year (you pay this in low monthly instalments). These costs for the app are paid automatically from your Peaks account, so they are not deducted directly from your bank account.
The costs of the index funds
With Peaks, you are investing in index funds. This always involves fund fees. You do not pay these to Peaks, but to the providers of the index funds in which you are investing. The average annual fund fees per portfolio are between 0.15% and 0.22% of your total investment and are calculated into the prices by the fund providers. You can find the exact costs of the index funds on the investing page of our website.
Transaction fees
Every time you make a deposit, withdraw money or switch portfolios, you pay a small amount to the index funds' stockbrokers.

The calculations are based on the costs of the Start package and the expected returns and risks of the portfolios in the long term. Your actual return will differ from those shown.
